Don Scaggs received a BS in Art Education /Studio from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and an MA in Drawing and Painting from Purdue University in W. Lafayette, Indiana.

After teaching in Indiana and Pennsylvania he taught Drawing, Painting and Printmaking at the University of North Texas for 32 years until early retirement in 2000.

Professor Scaggs was awarded Professor Emeritus in 2002. He joined Collin College in 2005 as an Associate in Drawing and Painting. His prints and paintings are included in numerous collections, both public and private.
