Collin College Visual Arts Scholarship Information
2008 - 2009 School Year


A Visual Art Scholarship is much more than a monetary award. It is an indication of your abilities and promise. When noted on your resume the term ‘Art Scholarship Recipient’ implies dedication, discipline, responsibility and professionalism. That is the REAL value of an Art Scholarship.

1. Scholarship recipients MUST be a declared Visual Art major.

2. Scholarship recipients MUST maintain a full-time academic load of twelve (12) hours per semester at Collin and earn a minimum 2.5 GPA during the semester in which the scholarship is awarded.

3. Scholarship recipients MUST be enrolled in at least one 3 credit hour Visual Art course during the semester in which the scholarship is awarded.

4. Scholarship recipients MUST exhibit work in the Creative Components Student show during the semester the scholarship is awarded. In addition, the student will be invited to exhibit prior portfolio works in the Art Department Scholarship Award Show, to be held during the 2008 Fall Semester.

Scholarship credits will be awarded at the reception for this event, October 11, 2008.

5. Scholarship recipients MUST adhere to the Student Code of Conduct as printed in the Collin College Student Handbook.

6. Any exception to the above MUST be cleared in advance by the Chair of the Art Department.

Students who fail to meet the requirements stated above may be ineligible for future scholarship consideration.

Deadline to Apply:

Applications MUST be received no later than 5:00 pm on Thursday May 15, 2008, and will be adjudicated by a panel of the Fine Art faculty.

Applicants may e-mail the completed application along with 5 – 10 .jpg images to cscaggs@ccccd.edu.

Alternately, applicants may hand deliver the completed application and portfolio of 5 – 10 works to:

Scholarships will be issued in the form of credit which can be used to cover the costs of tuition or books and supplies available in the school bookstore.

Amount of Award: $250 minimum
Application Deadline: May 15th 2008, 5:00 p.m.
