Luke
Sides began his BFA at Odessa College. He finished his BFA and received his MFA in Sculpture at the
University of North Texas, Denton. Luke's
sculptures are created using a variety of materials and processes:
steel fabrication, cast bronze and plastics, and woodcarving.
Luke has participated in a number of juried and
group exhibitions throughout Texas. Most
recently he had a solo exhibition, Corporeality, at Paris Junior
College. He and his students participated in a joint effort with music
professor Chris Morgan, Alloys & Echoes. He was also selected to
participate in the Arts International Exhibition at the International
Arts Museum in El Paso, TX, juried by Ellen Landis and Andrea Karnes.
Luke won the Hannah Taylor Sculpture Award for his entry.
Luke Sides served as the Visual Arts Chair for the 2004-2007 terms. He is
currently teaching Sculpture I and II, Sculpture Portfolio and Design II
(3-Dimensional Design).
