The Men's Cougar basketball program, one of the charter programs at Collin, began in 1988. This Cougar program is a member of the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference, widely recognized as one of the best junior college basketball regions in the nation. Coach Jim Sigona starts his 21st season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach. As a member of NJCAA Division I, the Cougar team plays a tough non-conference schedule featuring teams such as San Jacinto, South Plains, Howard and Jacksonville. The NTJCAA will be strong again featuring Temple, McLennan, and Weatherford. The Thanksgiving Tournament is held annually and features six outstanding teams providing an extremely high-level of competition. The Cougars have averaged 20 wins per year over the last 15 years and have been Nationally ranked in 8 of those years. In 2003-04 Collin had their best year in school history. They were 29-3 overall with a 13-1 conference mark and finished the season ranked 2nd in the country. The Cougars have advanced to the Region V tournament 11 of the past 14 years. Over 81 players have received full scholarships to four-year institutions. -- All Conference Selections: 60 -- All Region Selections: 28 -- All American Selections: 1 -- Academic All American: 6
