Martin Berryman
Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach

|
At the helm of the Cougar teams, Coach Martin Berryman has
lead his teams to a career record of 216-166, after starting the program
back in 1989. As a player, he has competed at the sectional level and is
a member of the professional USPTA. Before coming to Collin,
Berryman, a former collegiate football player at San Diego City College
and East Texas State University, coached tennis at Terrell High School
and Plano Senior High School. He received both a bachelor's degree and
a master's degree in P.E. from ETSU. Berryman has been named TPTA Coach
of the Year (1988) and NJCAA Div. II Coach of the Year six times (1990-1995)
as well as ITA men's Coach of the Year in 1994 and 1996. In May 2001,
Coach Berryman was inducted into the NJCAA Men's and Women's Tennis Hall of

Rod Coltman
Asst. Tennis Coach

Dr. Coltman played high school tennis at
Churchill High School in San Antonio. Aside from being a distinguished
professor and lecturer, he is an avid tennis player who plays for a number
of men's teams in Collin County. Dr. Coltman received a B.A. in Historical
Studies from UTD in 1988, an M.A. in the History of Ideas from UTD in 1990,
and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from DePaul University in Chicago in 1997. In
2002-2003, he received the Collin Outstanding Faculty Award. "Rod's
background really will help this team," said Coach Berryman. "Great to have
him on board." |
