DL-Certificate in Web Development

Description: This program prepares students to design, create, and enhance web sites. Includes browser compatibility issues and performance issues (such as efficient downloads). There are 4 required courses to complete the certificate: Creating Web Pages, Introduction to Microsoft FrontPage 2003 or Introduction to Dreamweaver 8, Introduction to Flash 8, and Creating Web Pages II.
Materials Needed: Students must have Internet access and in some cases access to the software taught in the class. No additional materials are needed unless specified in the Education To Go Orientation.             

DL-Creating Web Pages

Description: Learn how to design, create, and post your very own site on the Internet's World Wide Web. Discover low-cost marketing techniques and search engine strategies.

DL-Creating Web Pages II

Description: Are you using HTML to its fullest potential? In this hands-on course, you'll become adept at using color, tables, and frames to give your Web pages a more polished and professional look, improved navigation, and more organization. Beef up the fun factor with audio and interactive forms, and learn how to save hours of time and effort with Cascading Style Sheets.

DL-Intermediate PHP and MySQL
Prerequisite(s): After registering, you must go to www.ed2go.com/ccccdce and click Orientation to attend mandatory Online Orientation prior to admittance to class.

Description: Learn how to create an interactive online store complete with an online catalog of products, allowing customers to browse the catalog to select items, place them in a shopping cart, and complete an order. You'll see how to use the popular MySQL database server to store product information (including images) and track customer orders. You'll also learn how to use the PHP programming language to display product images in your online store, allow customers to shop online using a shopping cart in their browser, and provide an administrative section to manage the store.

DL-Introduction to CSS and XHTML

Description: Learn how to create state-of-the-art Web sites using modern CSS and XHTML techniques. Take your existing HTML skills to the next level and start building sites like the pros.

DL-Introduction to Dreamweaver 8

Description: Learn to harness the power of this industry-standard Web design program from a Silicon Alley veteran. Master the basics of document creation and how to insert and format text, images, hyperlinks, tables, multimedia files, and other types of Web page content. Explore different page design concepts—with an emphasis on avoiding common layout errors.

You'll begin with an introduction to basic Web design principles, and you'll explore the interface and features of the FrontPage program. Then, you'll learn how to manipulate words and images to create a site worthy of publishing to the Internet. By the end of the course, you'll be armed with all the knowledge you need to create an attractive, well-designed, and functional Web site.
