Object-Oriented Analysis & Design with UML
Prerequisite(s):
You must have experience in writing programs in one or more high-level programming languages (object-oriented language not required).


Description:
Object-Oriented Analysis and Design is intended as a first course in object-oriented methodology, focusing on the difference between older process-oriented methods and object methodology. While this is not a programming course, the emphasis is on understanding the techniques and methods of object-oriented analysis, design, and programming that contributes to a safer, more reliable system. Specific object-oriented languages will be referenced only for the purpose of relating object-oriented constructs within the languages. This is a lecture class.

SQL Programming
Prerequisite(s):
Microsoft Windows and ability to type 20 WPM.


Description:
Using MS SQL Server, this course covers ANSI/SQL where students will learn, through hands-on tasks and lectures, the SQL statements to retrieve from and modify data in relational databases, aggregate and group data using summary functions; create stored procedures and triggers; data integrity and database normalization principles; query optimization and use of indexes; transaction management and locking schemes and learn to create a database and tables.
