Library Computer UseAll students who are currently enrolled in credit classes have full access to the library computers. Library computers are accessed by way of Log-on ID and password. Library computers automatically log off after 60 minutes, but students are eligible to log back on if other students are not waiting.Students are given an allowance of $30.00 (approximately 300 sheets) per semester. After the $30.00 credit is used, there is a charge of $.10 per sheet to print in black and white. Color printing is also available at $.25 per sheet. Payment requires the purchase of a Trac card. No refund is given for the unexpended portion of a student’s print allowance. Allowances do not carry over to subsequent semesters. Instead, enrolled students begin each semester with a $30.00 print allowance. Laptops check out for designated hourly in-library use. A fine of $10 per hour will be charged for all laptops returned late. Interlibrary Loan and TexShare CardsInterlibrary Loan (ILL) service is available to all students, faculty, and staff members who have a Collin College library card and whose account is in good standing.Any material not owned by the library may be requested for Interlibrary Loan. The supplying library determines whether the material can be provided. Students may request one renewal on borrowed material. Renewal requests for ILL materials must be made at the Circulation Desk or by phone at least 2 days before the material is due. The decision to renew rests with the lending library. Requests for renewals will not be made for overdue materials. The student is responsible for all charges imposed by the supplying library, including fines. ILL material must be returned to the Circulation Desk on time and in good condition. All currently enrolled Collin College students are eligible for the issuance of a TexShare card. This card allows students to borrow materials from participating academic institutions. Each lending institution has rules and limitations regarding the use of the TexShare card. The student borrower is responsible for all materials, fines and fees when using the TexShare card. The TexShare card is issued for the current semester only. Reserve Materials UseFaculty members place materials on reserve at the Circulation Desk for use by students. Reserve materials are for in-library use unless otherwise stated. If the material can be used outside the library, faculty members will designate the check out period for such reserve material. Reserve material must be returned to the originating campus. Overdue reserve materials accrue a fine of $1 per hour up to a maximum of $15. |
