John A. Niemi

John A. Niemi is a doctoral student in the department of dance at Texas Woman's University. His current research project is titled, "Activating the Somatic Self in Space: A Transdisciplinary Design for Online Learning in Dance". His pick-up company, Dance Works in Progress (DWiP) is currently working on a collaborative project called "Pockets". He holds a master's degree in dance education and performance from American University in Washington, D.C., and has danced, choreographed, and performed with dance companies in Washington, D.C. and Chicago, Illinois.
