Clinical Emergency Medical Technician Basic Clinicals include healthcare-related, non-paid internships that enable students to apply classroom theories, skills and concepts to work situations. Evaluation is provides by the clinical supervisor and instructor. Specific learning objectives are developed for each course by the faculty. Upon completion, students will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P) exam. Students who successfully complete the exam may then apply for certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services (TxDSHS). This certification is required for EMTs and paramedics to work in the state. Contact our office for details. |
