Military Spouse Career Advancement Program
The Military Spouse Career Advancement Account is a new program offering spouses of active military the ability to enroll in an approved coding program or accredited HIT/HIA program and receive up to $3,500 in tuition reimbursement to help them attain a portable career. At this time, eight military bases are participating with more to be added if the pilot is successful. Programs that are located in close proximity to these bases (and online programs) are encouraged to reach out to the military base officer in charge of base events and ask to set up a recruitment coffee to tell the spouses about your program. Externship (unpaid) Opportunities - 200 hours (Daytime Hours)
- Need externs 40 hours per week, daytime hours, Monday-Friday 8-5
- Would be willing to allow two externs to job share, 20 hours each per week
- Primary duties include
- Calling insurance companies to follow up on claims
- Reviewing claims for accuracy, making changes as necessary
- Researching CPT Codes/Modifiers
- Assisting full time staff with other duties as needed
- Must be very detailed oriented
- Excellent communication skills are required

Billing Analyst Job Description- Crescent For new graduates or last semester students only
Summary: The Billing Analyst performs a wide variety of clerical functions. The Billing Analyst is primarily responsible for assisting the Practice Manager with the Revenue Cycle Management, the analyst also participates in patient education, answering patients' medical questions and reviewing all claims, insurance request and patient statements. The position requires an understanding of medical coding (CPT® and ICD-9 codes) knowledge of practice policies and procedures and an overall knowledge of ambulatory medicine.
The Billing Analyst main duties are:
- EOB processing and analysis
- Claim denial appeals and follow up
- Claim processing
- Patient Statements
- Monitoring of Aging Reports
Supervisory Duties: None
Reports: This position reports directly to the Practice Manager
Hours: The normal week hours consist of 40 hours per week.
