
Second Information Session Scheduled For Collin Higher Education Center
October 27, 2009 – Those interested in what the Collin Higher Education Center (CHEC) is cooking should attend an upcoming information session.
The free event is open to anyone interested in one of the many bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral programs being hosted at the center located at the intersection of Central Expressway and Hwy. 121 in McKinney.
The CHEC is slated to open in the spring 2010.
The information session is set from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Central Park Campus atrium, 2200 W. University Drive in McKinney.
Representatives from the following universities will attend to discuss admissions, advising, financial, the degrees they are offering at CHEC and more.
The following programs are pending final approval by the Texas Higher Education Board at its Oct. 29 meeting:
Dallas Baptist University- Bachelor of arts and science – Communication
- Master of arts - Management with Human Resource concentration
- Master of arts - Professional Development (Leadership Studies)
- Master of arts – Teaching
Texas A&M University-Commerce
- Bachelor of science – Psychology
- Bachelor of arts – Interdisciplinary Students (Elementary Education)
- Bachelor of arts – Spanish
- Master of science/education – Counseling
- Master of education – Curriculum and Instruction
Texas Woman’s University
- Bachelor of science – Child Development
- Bachelor of science – Math (with teacher certification)
- Bachelor of science - Nursing (RN to BSN)
- Master of education –Administration (Education)
- Master of education – Special Education
The University of Texas at Dallas

The sessions feature faculty and academic advisors from the partner universities. The fairs will assist prospective and returning students interested in programs at CHEC. University and Collin College representatives will answer specific questions about degree programs offered at the CHEC and advise students preparing for admission to the universities or planning for registration.
