Photo Club - "Obscura"
ABOUT THE CLUB
Collin College’s OBSCURA PHOTO CLUB is a recognized student organization that promotes the sharing of photographic knowledge and pictures. This is achieved through seminars and events that are organized by the executive team. Above all else, we encourage our members and everyone in general to get out and take pictures.

Deep Ellum Gallery Walk - Dallas, TX
September 19, 2009
The Obscura Photo Club - in conjunction with the Hal Samples Gallery - featured photographic works by Collin College students in a truly unique venue. As part of Deep Ellum's Fall Art Walk, Obscura rented a 26-foot U-Haul truck and set up a functioning art gallery in its interior. Given the smashing success of this show, it's entirely possible Obscura is the coolest organization on campus! Just sayin'...

“Sprawl” SPE Conference 2009 – Dallas, TX
March 26-29, 2009
15 Obscura Photo Club members invaded the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Dallas for this year’s Society for Photographic Education’s 46th Annual National Conference for four days worth of artist lectures, technical workshops, and gallery tours. The photo club was invited by photographer and author Henry Horenstein to attend a private artist talk and reception at Photographs Do Not Bend gallery. While at the conference, Collin College students were thrilled to meet photographic educators, artists and other students from across the nation.
