Sonja Andrus, professor of English, was appointed to the National Council of Teachers of English/SLATE steering committee on social and political concerns.

Brenda Carter, dean of Academic Affairs at the Central Park Campus, has been appointed by the McKinney City Council to serve as a member of the Community Grants Advisory Committee.

Terri Karlseng, reference librarian at the Preston Ridge Campus, was appointed to the Plano ISD Library and Information Resources Advisory Committee.

Tony Airhart, professor of physical education, was appointed to serve on the city of Allen Parks and Recreation Board.

Angela Putman, professor of communication studies and Honors Institute chair, was elected to serve on the Two-Year College Committee of the National Collegiate Honors Council. The position is a three-year appointment.

Dr. Lisa Roy-Davis, professor of English, was appointed to the Committee Against Racism and Bias in the Teaching of English for the National Council of Texas of English.
