7 out of 10 small-business owners start their business with less than $20,000. 14% of Inc. magazine's 500 fastest-growing companies started with less than $1,000. Companies with fewer than 500 employees represent 99.9% of businesses in the U.S. 66% of new small businesses survive at least 2 years, and 44% survive at least 4 years. Small businesses in America create 3 out of every 4 new jobs.
