Endowed by Texas Instruments, the Science, Math, Advanced Research and Technology (SMART) initiative provides scholarships to Collin County Community College District (Collin College) for selected high school and college students interested in science, math, engineering or technology careers.

The objective is to create a pipeline of professionals beginning in the Plano Independent School District and extending on to Collin College and The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) for undergraduate degrees.

UT Dallas PARTNERSHIP

SMART is aimed at students who intend to transfer to UT Dallas to complete an undergraduate degree in an engineering or engineering-related field. The credits earned at Collin College will, however, transfer to virtually any university. College students applying for SMART funds must also participate in Collin College's dual admission program with UT Dallas.
